Meet Our Senior Pastor

Dr. Wes Conner, our Senior Pastor, and his wife Eve are originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and recently relocated to Ormond Beach, Florida upon Pastor Wes’s

retirement from full-time pastoral ministry in Kentucky.  Little did he and Eve know when they moved to our area that Pastor Wes

would become the next Senior Pastor of our church! 

 

When long-time Pastor Bob Hadley and his wife Trish retired to Tennessee in March 2023, Pastor Wes assumed the Interim Pastor role at Westside,

assuming he would lead the church temporarily and help Westside find its next permanent pastor.  Through the prayers of the church and the

leading of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Wes accepted to role of our full-time Senior Pastor on Sunday, September 24, 2023.

 

Brother Wes and Eve have two adult children and two grandsons.  Pastor Wes is a graduate of Trinity Baptist College (B.A. in Pastoral Theology) and

Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (M.A. in Religion).  He received his Doctor of Educational Ministry degree (D.Ed. Min.) from

The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, Kentucky).

 

Pastor Wes has served both full-time and bi-vocationally as an associate pastor, youth pastor, and music pastor in churches in the states of Florida,

Georgia, Tennessee, Washington, and Virginia.  He also served the Nation as a military intelligence officer in the United States Army, retiring in 2005. 

Throughout his Army career Pastor Wes served the Lord through bi-vocational ministry in churches and military chapels throughout

the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. 

 

After the military, Pastor Wes served as Senior Pastor of churches in Virginia and Kentucky before relocating to Florida in 2021. 

Eve has faithfully served alongside Pastor Wes as a dedicated pastor’s wife, musician, counselor, women’s ministry leader, and friend and

mentor to many within the congregations they served. 

 

Pastor Wes and Eve are thrilled to be called to serve at Westside Baptist Church for such a time as this in God’s kingdom!

Our goal is not to impress you, but to introduce you to the greatest gift ever given—the Lord Jesus Christ.

About Us

Westside Baptist Church was established in 1959 and has been serving the Daytona Beach Community ever since. 

We like to describe Westside with three easy words: REAL.  SIMPLE.  CHURCH.  

 

REAL.  We’re genuine followers of Jesus Christ.  No hidden agendas; no surprises; no perfect people. 

Just real Christians who love God and love people. 

 

SIMPLE.  Our church doesn’t have laser-lights, fog machines, or high-tech gizmos to try to “enhance” our worship (though we don’t judge others who do). 

We do have a dedicated worship choir and gifted musicians who lead us into God’s presence each week.  We do have accurate, passionate teaching

and preaching of God’s Word.  And we do have small group studies, opportunities for fellowship and Christian service, and ministries for children and youth. 

 

CHURCH.  We make no pretense of who we are—a biblical church community seeking to do God’s will on earth.  Westside is committed to the historic Christian

faith of the New Testament. We seek to always be a church where God dwells—within us and among us.
